Philosophy Photography to me is a series of learning experiences which lead to seeing and capturing with photography the intricate beauty that exists in things which may not be seen ordinarily. Photography has given me a set of tools to render ordinary subjects into art thru the use of color, form and texture. From traditional types of imagery to abstract visions, I attempt with all my images to express my personal insight into the natural world . It may be finding beauty in the imperfections of nature or accepting the natural cycle of growth and aging. The process reminds that I an just a transient being in a world of beauty changing constantly.
Abstract / Close-Ups Great photography exists in the inconspicuous and overlooked details. These photographs represent observations from a different perspective. I find unlimited photographic opportunity in old rustic automobiles, rock formations and other aesthetic things of the earth .Getting rid of all that is unnecessary resulting in photographs that I find very interesting.
Water Series I observe moving water with Interest. Rapidly moving water makes it difficult to see the intricate geometric shapes occurring when water interact with various objects . The water series is a group of photographs designed to show the intricate details and patterns constantly occurring in the moving water. Artistically the water series work well in both color and black & white prints.
Black & White Whatever photographic series I am Photographing , I look at the series and determine if the series might be better suited for black and white. The concept of reducing these elements into simple shapes, forms and textures in shades of gray which is pleasing to the eye is a rewarding challenge to me. The black and white series range from landscapes to close-up abstracts. Black and White photography provides me a means of communicating with my deeper self, making it easier for me to see photographic subjects around me in a more artistic way. With black and white photography I am more conscious and careful with the composition therefore capturing the bare essential of the subject.
